The Severnside Institute for Psychotherapy (SIP) was founded in May 1985 by a group of psychoanalytic psychotherapists. Their aims are to promote and develop psychoanalytic psychotherapy in Bristol, Bath, and the surrounding areas of the South and South West.

SIP is a member of the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC), a professional association which represents the profession of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.

We work together with tutors at the Institute to provide the books they recommend to students at specially reduced prices. Tutors have asked us to note that they hope you do not find the list too daunting and that the amount of reading you do is completely up to you!
